Polo Shirt ODM & Custom Development Services

ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) starts earlier than OEM: you bring a product brief and market direction, and our design and sampling team develops the silhouette, fabric combination, trims and fit before carrying the approved style into bulk production.

Polo shirt design sketch and pattern development in the ODM studio

Development Stages

From Brief to Approved Style

  • Brief & positioning. Market, price band, competitors and the fit story you want.
  • Design direction. Collar, placket, sleeve, hem and trim proposals with reference images.
  • Fabric development. Pique or jersey weight, composition, colorway and hand-feel samples.
  • Proto sample. First physical garment to test construction and overall proportion.
  • Fit revisions. Pattern corrections on a size base before grading the full run.
  • PP sample & size set. Final workmanship standard plus graded sizes for sign-off.
  • Bulk handover. Approved package moves into production scheduling.

See the sample development guide for sample types, and fabric guide for GSM and composition decisions.

Confidentiality by default

ODM only works when buyers trust the factory with early-stage ideas. Briefs, sketches, blocks and sample rounds are handled under project confidentiality; mutual NDA signing is standard before detailed design work begins.

IP responsibilities are clear

You must own or be licensed to use the logos, artwork and product concepts sent to us. We decline development briefs built around third-party trademarks or counterfeit references — see the terms.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to what apparel buyers ask before requesting a quotation.

What is the starting point for an ODM project?
A brief: target market, price position, preferred fabrics, visual references, colors and quantities. You do not need a tech pack — our sampling team converts the brief into sketches, patterns and physical samples.
How many sample rounds are included?
Sample fees currently run USD 60-150 per style, including two revision rounds, and are quoted per project before any development work starts. Sample costs are commonly deductible from the first bulk order; this is always stated in your quotation, never assumed.
Will you pitch our developed design to other buyers?
No. Designs, blocks and samples developed under your project are treated as confidential and are not reused for other customers. Mutual NDAs can be signed before any design exchange.
Can ODM help reduce MOQ or price?
Sometimes. Designs using in-stock fabrics and standard trims can lower both MOQ and cost, while custom-dyed fabrics or bespoke hardware raise them. Your sales contact shows the trade-offs during development rather than after order.
